Auditing every tag firing on a website

More Clean Data. Fewer Rogue Tags.

Google Tag Manager set up and governed properly. We fix the container, build the data layer and make every tag accountable — so the numbers downstream are worth reading.

Nobody Knows What Half The Tags On Your Site Actually Do.

The container has thirty-odd tags in it. A few were added by an agency that left, two fire twice, one has been broken since the site was redesigned, and nobody wants to be the person who deletes the wrong one.

Tag Manager rarely fails because it is hard. It fails because it gets treated as a place to paste snippets rather than a system — no data layer, no naming, no documentation, and no one accountable for what is in it.

That’s where we come in.

Checking every tag fires once, with the right value

How It Works — The Method

Attract → Convert → Systemize

The same three-part path from owner-dependent to owner-optional, applied to the layer everything else measures through.

1. Attract

Capture events at the source

A proper data layer built with your developer, so events carry the values that matter — the service booked, the plan chosen, the order total — instead of being guessed at from a button’s text.

2. Convert

Send clean signal to every platform

One event, defined once, sent correctly to GA4, Google Ads and Meta, so the platforms stop reporting three different numbers for the same conversion. This is where most reporting arguments actually start.

3. Systemize

A container your team can maintain

Naming conventions, folders, documentation and versioning your team can follow, plus a dashboard you can read in five minutes. Adding a tag stops being a phone call to you.

What’s Included

  • Container Setup, Audit & Cleanup — Every tag, trigger and variable inventoried: what it does, what it costs in page speed, whether it still fires, and whether anybody still needs it. Then we remove what nobody can justify.
  • Data Layer Design & Implementation — A documented data layer specification your developer can implement once, so tracking survives the next redesign instead of breaking silently the day it launches.
  • Server-Side Tagging & Consent Mode — Where it is worth it, tags moved server-side for better data quality and page speed, with consent mode configured so tracking respects the banner rather than ignoring it.
  • Tracking You Can Trust — Verified end to end, so you know every tag fires once, on the right page, with the right value. No guessing at what is working.
  • Monthly Strategy Calls With Loren — Never a junior associate. We review what changed on the site, decide what needs new tracking, and agree on what to remove.

Transformation: Before → After

Before — owner-dependent
After — owner-optional
Nobody knows what half the container does.
Every tag documented, named and accounted for.
Three platforms, three different conversion counts.
One event definition, sent correctly to each.
A redesign breaks tracking and nobody notices.
A data layer that survives the next rebuild.
Adding a tag means calling you.
Your team runs it without you.

Stop Guessing. Start Growing.

  • We Treat The Container As A System — Law firms, clinics, ecommerce brands and service businesses. One military law firm got dedicated tracking for its highest-value form submissions, and lead quality finally became a number instead of an impression. Not snippets pasted into the theme.
  • We Report on Data You Can Act On—Not Tags Installed — Every event verified firing once, with the right value, on the right page. You will know what we are tracking, when, and exactly why—no black boxes.
  • No Contracts. Period. — We don’t lock you in because we don’t need to. Results keep our clients around—not fine print. If we’re not delivering, you can walk away anytime.

Your Tag Manager Roadmap

  • 1. Discovery & Strategy Call — The actions that make you money, the platforms that need to know about them, and the decisions currently being made without a number behind them.
  • 2. Container & Tag Audit — Every tag, trigger and variable inventoried: what fires, what double-fires, what has been broken since the last redesign, and what is costing page speed for nothing.
  • 3. Measurement & Data Layer Plan — The events worth capturing, named consistently, written up as a specification your developer can implement — so it is documented before anyone touches the container.
  • 4. Build, Test & Verify — Tags built in a workspace, tested in preview mode, checked against each platform’s own reporting, and published with version notes before anyone reports a number.
  • 5. Optimize & Grow — Monthly strategy calls with Loren where we review what changed on the site, decide what needs tracking next, and agree on what to retire.

Who We Can Help

Our Google Tag Manager services are built for businesses that are:

  • Looking at a container nobody has audited since it was created
  • Getting different conversion counts from GA4, Google Ads and Meta
  • Discovering tracking broke weeks after a site redesign went live
  • Pasting scripts into the theme because nobody owns the container
  • Ready to hand tagging to their team instead of doing it personally

If you want tracking that survives your next redesign, we’re here to help.

FAQs: Google Tag Manager

For most of it, no — that is the point of Tag Manager. The exception is the data layer: pushing values like an order total or the service someone booked needs a developer once. We write the specification so it is a short, clearly defined job rather than an open-ended one, and everything after that we handle in the container.

We audit first and almost always clean up rather than rebuild, because a fresh container loses the history and the working tags along with the broken ones. You get the inventory before we change anything — what fires, what double-fires, what has been dead since the last redesign — and you decide what goes.

Usually because each platform was tagged separately, at different times, by different people, with different definitions of the same conversion. We define each event once and send it to all three from one place. See GA4 consulting for the reporting side of that work. We also verify the tracking end to end so the numbers can be checked rather than argued about.

Only if the volume justifies it. Server-side tagging improves data quality and takes weight off the page, but it costs more to run and adds a moving part to maintain. For most small and mid-sized businesses, fixing the container and the data layer recovers far more accuracy for far less money. We will tell you honestly which side of that line you are on.

That is where data and analytics takes over — turning verified events into reporting you can read in five minutes and the decisions that follow from it.

Yes. A military law firm set up dedicated tracking for its highest-value form submissions and now averages 47 qualified leads a month, and a consumer protection firm launched with lead-source tracking built in and won its first client 19 days after launch.
